markne Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Hi, I'm being told I have two (front) disc size choices for my gal.. From what I can see 300 is the only option but I have seen 288, 300 and 312 mentioned. Is 300 definitely the correct size? Thanks Quote

Thanks Hi, i have a 2002 on a 02 plate 1.9tdi, and the front discs are 300mm (vented) and 268mm rear (solid). However, you are best to measure the discs that are on the car already. Quote
mictop Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 I changed my front discs last year got the parts from Halfords stripped everything down and both the discs and pads were wrong, I had to rebuild with the old parts (I was at work at the time), took the parts back to the spotty 17 year at Halfords to be told I didnt know what I was doing it said that they were the right parts on the computer, eventually got my money back. Luckily I had drawn around the pads and discs took them to the local trade factors who knew what parts I needed from the drawings, but he admitted with Fords it is sometimes better to take the old parts in to compare Quote
gregers Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 you may find that the sods in the factory have fitted any size they wanted.had this problem myself on the old mk1 i had,and on a renault laguna. Quote
markne Posted November 11, 2009 Author Report Posted November 11, 2009 I've now got two possible pads (assuming the 300mm discs)- one with 1 wear wire and one with 2 - any ideas which I should use?? Quote
Saif Rehman Posted November 13, 2009 Report Posted November 13, 2009 (edited) I've now got two possible pads (assuming the 300mm discs)- one with 1 wear wire and one with 2 - any ideas which I should use?? Doesn't really matter as long as one pad as a wire which will be connected at the N/S/F wheel. You can cut of the other wire off as it's not needed.Out of curiosity, did you measure your existing discs. Also, the wire will visible if you turn the wheel.
